Sermon

Scripture Reference : Isaiah 56:6-8, John 17:20-24

Date: 02.09.18

Venue: Bethesda Cathedral Main Service

Summary:

God called His house a house of prayer for all nations. He is the One who started opening up His house to allow us to draw close to Him and to know Him. This privilege of prayer was given to one man (the high priest) in the Old Testament, but Jesus paid a high price on the cross so that this privilege is now given to all man. We can pray because God desire us to talk to Him and know Him. By showing up in prayer, we are answering the prayers that Jesus made in John 17:24.

When we talk about prayer, we have a tendency to look at it from the external reality (seen). If we read through the scriptures, we see the impact of prayer affect not only the external reality, but the internal and eternal as well. Our prayers shape our present world, it also shape us to become the answer the prayers. Not only, it transcend time and it cuts into eternity.
